The Smallville

Smallville is an American television series developed by writer/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and was initially broadcast by The WB. After its fifth season, the WB and UPN merged to form The CW, which is the current broadcaster for the show in the United States.[1] Smallville premiered on October 16, 2001, and completed its seventh season on May 15, 2008.[2] An eighth season was officially announced by The CW on March 3, 2008.[3] It is filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The plot follows the adventures of a young Clark Kent's life in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends' high school years. Since season five, the show has ventured into more adult settings, with some characters attending college and an increase in the introductions of other DC comic book superheroes and villains.

Smallville inspired an Aquaman pilot, which was not picked up by The CW network, as well as promotional tie-ins with Verizon, Sprint, Toyota, and Stride. In other media, the show has spawned a series of young-adult novels, a DC Comics bi-monthly comic book and soundtrack releases. The show broke the record for highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers tuning in for its pilot episode.

The Avatar Legend Of Aang

A century prior to the series' opening, Aang, a 12-year-old Airbender of the Air Nomads' Southern Air Temple, learned from the elder monks that he was the Avatar. Usually, the Avatar is told of his or her true identity after turning sixteen; however, the monks feared that a war between the four nations was on the horizon and that soon the Avatar would be required to maintain balance and order in the world. Shortly thereafter, the monks decreed that Aang would be separated from his guardian, Monk Gyatso, and sent to the Eastern Air Temple to complete his training.

Confused, frightened, and overwhelmed by these recent events and his new responsibilities as the Avatar, Aang fled from his home on his flying bison, Appa. While traveling over frigid southern ocean waters, a sudden storm caused Appa to plunge deep into the sea. Threatened with drowning, Aang unconsciously entered the Avatar State, and used Airbending and Waterbending to encase himself and Appa in an ice bubble, forcing them into a state of suspended animation. The ocean currents propelled the bubble into the icy waters surrounding the South Pole, where it could not thaw, and instead formed into an iceberg.

The series opens one hundred years later, with the Fire Nation on the brink of victory in its imperialist war. All Air Nomads are believed dead. The Water Tribes are in crisis — the Southern Water Tribe's warriors have left to wage war, leaving their home defenseless, while the Northern Water Tribe, though largely intact, is continually on the defensive. The vast Earth Kingdom is now the only true barrier to the Fire Nation's world conquest, but as the Fire Nation continues to encroach on its borders and conquer its territories, hopes of victory grow bleaker with each passing year.

Two teenage siblings from the Southern Water Tribe — Katara, an inexperienced Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka, a warrior and caretaker of the tribe — discover and free Aang and Appa from the iceberg. Aang soon discovers to his horror that, during his absence, a century-long war has been waged. The very year he vanished, Fire Lord Sozin, then-ruler of the Fire Nation, took advantage of both the Avatar's absence and the Firebending-enhancing powers of a passing comet (later named "Sozin's Comet" in his honor) to launch a war on the other nations. To Aang's shock and disbelief, the Fire Nation's opening gambit had been a genocidal assault on the Air Nomads. The Air Temples were stormed and the Airbenders slaughtered in the Fire Nation's effort to break the Avatar Cycle, leaving Aang as the last known Airbender in existence.

As the Avatar, Aang's duty is to restore harmony and peace to the four nations. Along with his newly discovered friends Katara and Sokka, his flying bison Appa and his winged lemur Momo, and later the blind Earthbender Toph, Aang travels the world to master all four elements. During his quest, he must constantly avoid being captured by the banished Prince Zuko and, later, Zuko's deceptive sister, Princess Azula.

Although normally years of disciplined training are required to master a single Bending art, Aang must become a master of all four and defeat Fire Lord Ozai by summer's end, when the return of Sozin's Comet will give the Firebenders the power to win the war. If these events come to pass, not even the Avatar will possess the ability to restore balance to the world.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is an upcoming 2009 fantasy adventure film, based on the novel by J. K. Rowling. It is the sixth film in the popular Harry Potter films series. Production is in the post-production stage. David Yates, the director of the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is returning as director for this film. David Heyman and David Barron are producing the film,[1] and Steve Kloves, writer of the first four films (but not the fifth), has returned as screenwriter for this film.[2] Filming began on 24 September 2007 and the film was originally planned for a UK and US release on 21 November 2008,[3][2] but on 14 August 2008, it was announced that the release date for the film was to be pushed back to 17 July 2009.[4] Like the previous film, the sixth film will be simultaneously released in regular cinemas and IMAX 3-D.[5]

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defences and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny (Bonnie Wright), but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.[6]

Development

Before David Yates was officially chosen to direct the film, many others had been offered the job, and previous directors had expressed an interest in returning. Alfonso Cuarón, the director of the third film, stated he "would love to have the opportunity" to return.[7] Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell declined a spot to direct the fifth film, and was not approached for this one.[8] Terry Gilliam was Rowling's personal choice to direct Philosopher's Stone. However, when asked whether he would consider directing a later film, Gilliam said, "Warner Bros. had their chance the first time around, and they blew it."[9]

Yates has retained composer Nicholas Hooper, costume designer Jany Temime, visual effects supervisor Tim Burke, creature and make-up effects designer Nick Dudman, and special effects supervisor John Richardson from the third film.[2] Since February 2007, Stuart Craig, the production designer of the first five films as well, has been designing sets, including the cave, and the astronomy tower, where the climax of the film takes place.[10] Academy Award nominated Bruno Delbonnel is the film's cinematographer.[2]

Yates and Heyman have noted that some of the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows may influence the script of the film.[11] Steve Kloves, who wrote the first four films, returned for the sixth adaptation.[12]

There are a number of changes from the book in the film. Much of the book's ending has been changed, with the Battle of Hogwarts and Dumbledore's funeral being removed. Heyman commented that the end battle was removed to "[avoid] repetition" with the forthcoming adaptation of Deathly Hallows. The funeral was removed as it did not fit with the rest of the film.[13] The collapse of a Muggle bridge (which is only mentioned in the book) acts as the opening sequence.[14] All but two of the memory scenes, including that of the Gaunts, have been cut. Only the flashbacks of Tom Riddle at the orphanage and Riddle asking Slughorn about Horcruxes remain.[14] Yates noted: "We're making a decision right now to compress those a wee bit, but we've still got some really cool ones."[15] Characters who are cut include the Dursleys and the Muggle Prime Minister, but Quidditch returns.

The Transformers

Transformers is a 2007 live-action film adaptation of the Transformers franchise, directed by Michael Bay and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, two factions of alien robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery. The Decepticons desire control of the All Spark, the object that created their robotic race, with the intention of using it to build an army by giving life to the machines of Earth. Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and John Turturro also star, while Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving provide the voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively.

Producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto developed the project in 2003, with a treatment written by DeSanto. Executive producer Steven Spielberg came on board the following year, and hired Orci, Kurtzman and Bay for the project in 2005. The filmmakers wanted a realistic depiction of the story, and created a complex design aesthetic for the robots to stress their alien nature. The computer-generated characters were programmed to have thousands of mechanical pieces move as they transformed and maneuvered. The United States Military and General Motors lent vehicles and aircraft during filming, which saved money for the production and added realism to the battle scenes.

Hasbro organized an enormous promotional campaign for the film, making deals with hundreds of companies. This advertising blitz included a viral marketing campaign, coordinated releases of Transformers prequel comics books, Transformers toys and books, as well as product placement deals with GM and eBay. The film was a box office success despite mixed fan reaction to the radical redesigns of the characters, and reviews criticizing the focus on the humans at the expense of the robots. It is the thirtieth most successful film released and the fifth most successful of 2007, grossing approximately US$708 million worldwide. The film won four awards from the Visual Effects Society and was nominated for three Academy Awards. It revitalized media interest in the franchise, and a sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is expected for release on June 26, 2009.

The film opens with Optimus Prime, heroic leader of the benevolent Autobots, describing in a voice-over the destruction of the Transformers' home world, Cybertron. It was destroyed by the evil Decepticon leader Megatron in his quest to obtain the All Spark. The Autobots want to find the All Spark so they can use it to rebuild Cybertron and end the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, while the Decepticons want to use it to defeat the Autobots and conquer the universe. Megatron found the All Spark on Earth, but crash-landed in the Arctic Circle and was frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumbled upon Megatron's body in 1897. Captain Witwicky accidentally activated Megatron's navigational system and his eye glasses were imprinted with the coordinates of the All Spark's location. Sector 7, a secret United States government organization founded by Herbert Hoover, discovered the All Spark in the Colorado River and built the Hoover Dam around it to mask its energy emissions. The still-frozen Megatron was moved into this facility and was used to advance human technology through reverse engineering.

In the present day, the group of Decepticons — Blackout, Scorponok, Frenzy, Barricade, Starscream, Devastator and Bonecrusher — have landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles (except Scorponok, who hides within Blackout). Blackout and Scorponok attack the U.S. SOCCENT FWD military base in Qatar and try to hack into the U.S. military network to find the location of Megatron and the All Spark. Their mission is thwarted when the base staff severs the network cable connections. While Blackout destroys the rest of the base, Scorponok chases a small group of survivors who have photographic evidence of the robots, but he is eventually repelled. During this battle, the military discovers the only effective weapons against the Transformers' armor are high-heat sabot rounds.

After Blackout's failure, Frenzy infiltrates Air Force One to again hack into the military network, planting a virus. He finds the map imprinted on Captain Witwicky's glasses, whose descendant Sam Witwicky intends to sell on eBay. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location. Autobot scout Bumblebee is also on Earth, disguised as a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro,[2] and is bought by Sam while shopping for his first car. Bumblebee helps him woo his crush, Mikaela Banes. Bumblebee leaves at night to transmit a homing signal to the rest of the Autobots and Sam sees him in robot mode. Barricade confronts Sam and demands Archibald's spectacles, but Bumblebee rescues him and Mikaela. They leave to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots — Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet — who have landed on Earth and taken the forms of Earth vehicles as well. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots return to Sam's home and obtain the glasses; however, agents from Sector 7 arrive and take Sam, Mikaela and Bumblebee into custody.

Frenzy, now disguised as Mikaela's cellphone, secretly accompanies the group to Hoover Dam and releases Megatron from his frozen state. Locating the All Spark, Frenzy sends an alert to the other Decepticons. Sam convinces the Sector 7 agents to release Bumblebee so that he can deliver the All Spark to Optimus Prime. Frenzy's virus has shut down government communications, but a group of humans manage to establish a signal to the Air Force in order to support the Autobot-human convoy, who have gone to nearby Mission City to hide the All Spark. The Decepticons attack and Bonecrusher, Frenzy, Jazz, Devastator and Blackout are all killed during the ensuing battle. Sam, who is ordered to get the All Spark to a rendezvous point for it to be taken to a safe location, instead chooses to ram it into Megatron's chest, destroying it and killing Megatron. Optimus takes a fragment of the All Spark from Megatron's corpse, but realizes that with its destruction, their home world Cybertron cannot be restored. Consequently, Optimus sends a signal to other surviving Autobots in the universe, directing them to their new home, Earth. The government orders the closure of Sector 7 and has the five Decepticons killed in the Mission City battle dumped into the Laurentian Abyss. Starscream, who fled the battle, escapes into space.

The Rambo V

Sylvester Stallone initially poo-pooed the idea of another Rambo sequel, and then reportedly signed on to direct and star in two more unnamed action movies, it looks like we may finally have confirmation on what many had already suspected. One of these unnamed action movies is indeed a fifth Rambo flick! I guess part 4 wasn’t the end of the line for John Rambo after all.

The Hollywood Reporter recently did a piece on some of the upcoming projects from Lionsgate, and among them Rambo V is listed plain as day:

“On the development horizon are “Warrior,” which Gavin O’Connor co-wrote and will direct; “Conan,” a fast-tracked project with multiple scripts in the works; “Severance Package,” with Brett Simon writing and directing; “Rambo V,” to be written and directed by Sylvester Stallone; “Korean Wedding” from writer Jason Filardi; and “Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that will star Bruce Willis.”

Well, as much as I am worried that a fifth Rambo might be pushing his luck, I have to admit that I will be first in line to see it when it comes out. Based on how the last movie concluded, it seems likely that this installment will bring Rambo back to the good ol’ U.S. of A., and I’m curious to see where Stallone might take it from there. At the very least, I suppose Rambo can withstand another sequel a lot better than Rocky could. As long as Stallone does not attempt a Rocky 7, I will be more than happy to just keep my mouth shut. What do you think, is Rambo V a good idea?

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a 2008 fantasy-superhero film based on the fictional Dark Horse Comics character Hellboy. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro and is a sequel to the 2004 film Hellboy, which del Toro also directed. Ron Perlman reprises his role as the titular character. The film was commercially released on July 11, 2008 in the United States and Canada.

In Christmas of 1955, a young Hellboy is told a bedtime story by his adoptive father, Professor Broom (John Hurt), involving an ancient battle between man and monsters. The master of the goblin blacksmiths built an unstoppable clockwork army for Balor, the one-armed king of elfland, which could only be controlled by those of royal blood, provided no one challenged their right to do so. This Golden Army devastated the humans so mercilessly that Balor forged a truce with them to stop the bloodshed: man would keep his cities and the creatures would keep their forests. Balor's son, Prince Nuada (Luke Goss), didn't agree with the truce, and left in exile. The crown controlling the army was broken into three pieces, one piece going to the humans and the other two kept by the elves, so the Golden Army could never be raised again.

In the present, Nuada decides to declare war on the humans. He collects the first piece of the crown from an auction and kills his father for the second. His twin sister Princess Nuala escapes with the final piece. Meanwhile, Hellboy (Ron Perlman) is having relationship issues with his girlfriend Liz Sherman (Selma Blair). He is also having trouble accepting that their organization, the BPRD, must remain a secret. During a mission to eradicate thousands of ravenous tooth fairies, which Nuada set loose as he took the first piece of the crown, Hellboy allows himself to be revealed to the world. In the commotion, Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) discovers that Liz is pregnant. Furious about the public unveiling, Washington sends a by-the-book agent, the ectoplasmic Johann Krauss, to take command. With Krauss in charge, the team tracks the tooth fairies to the Troll Market, an enormous merchant city hidden under the Brooklyn Bridge, for clues. Abe stumbles into Nuala, who has obtained a map leading to the Golden Army, during their search, and quickly falls in love with her following a brief psychic encounter. She is brought under BPRD protection following an attack by Nuada's companion Mr. Wink (Brian Steele) and a forest elemental. During the elemental fight, Hellboy questions whether it is right to fight for the humans when he too is a mythical creature.

Nuada tracks his sister to BPRD headquarters using their magical bond, which causes them to share wounds and allows them to read each others' thoughts to an extent. Nuala, sensing her brother's arrival, burns the map, along with the canister in which it came, and hides the final piece of the crown within one of Abe's books. However, the real map is on the canister. Nuada kidnaps his sister and mortally wounds Hellboy with his spear. Unable to remove the spear shard, Johann, Liz, and Abe take Hellboy to the location of the Golden Army, hidden in Northern Ireland. They encounter the goblin that oversaw the creation of the Golden Army, and he brings them before the Angel of Death (Jones), who has been waiting for their arrival. Though told that Hellboy would doom humanity if he lives, and that she'll suffer the most from it, Liz pleads for Hellboy not to die. Amused by her choice, the Angel removes the spear shard from Hellboy's chest and tells Liz to give him a reason to live. She reveals to Hellboy that he's going to be a father, and he recovers.

The goblin leads the team to the resting place of the Golden Army, where Nuada awaits them. In exchange for Nuala, Abe gives him the last piece of the crown. With the crown reformed, Nuada invokes the Golden Army and has them attack the agents. Counterattacking proves pointless, as the soldiers magically reform themselves when destroyed. Hellboy challenges Nuada for the right to the crown, and Nuada is forced to accept, since Hellboy, as the Son of the Fallen One, is royalty. Hellboy defeats Nuada and spares his life, but the Prince tries to stab Hellboy in the back. Nuala commits suicide to stop her brother. Abe rushes to Nuala's body and psychically tells her his feelings before she dies. Liz then melts the crown, shutting down the Golden Army forever. As the BPRD agents leave the underground compound, Tom Manning (Jeffrey Tambor) reprimands them for their actions. To his surprise, Hellboy, Liz, Abe, and Johann all hand over their belts (though Hellboy keeps his pistol) and announce their resignation from the bureau. As they walk away, Hellboy contemplates his future life with Liz and their baby. Liz stops and corrects him, saying "babies", surprising him with the fact that she is pregnant with twins.

On the DVD edition, an animated epilogue of the film reveals that Rasputin is still alive and the Nazis are planning to rebuild their organization, possibly setting the stage for the third film.

The Bakugan 2

Bakugan Battle Brawlers (爆丸バトルブローラーズ Bakugan Batoru Burōrāzu?) is a Japanese anime television series produced by TMS Entertainment and Japan Vistec under the direction of Mitsuo Hashimoto. The story centers on the lives of creatures called Bakugan and the battle brawlers who have the deep power to wield them. Consisting of fifty-one episodes, Bakugan Battle Brawlers debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2007. Nelvana Limited produced the English language version and premiered the series on the Canadian network Teletoon later the same year. In conjunction with the anime series, Sega Toys and Spin Master released a strategic game, called Bakugan, using metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded miniature figures.

Characters

Dan Kuso
Dan is a 11[1] year old boy who loves Bakugan. His greatest ambition is to be the number 1 battle brawler in the world. He is a Pyrus battler. He is very quick to temper. His guardian Bakugan is the Pyrus-attribute Dragonoid (nicknamed Drago). In the anime television series, Dan is voiced by Yu Kobayashi in the Japanese language and Scott McCord in the English language. Drago is voiced by Keiji Fujiwara in the Japanese language and Jason Deline in the English language.
Runo Misaki
At the age of 11, Runo is not your typical pre-teen girl. Runo is a tomboy who loves playing Bakugan with people that have skills to show off. Runo is a Haos battler. Her Guardian Bakugan is the Haos-attribute Tigrerra, who is very obedient to her master and powerful in battle. Runo hates when people think that just because she is a girl, they can beat her. At the end of the series she and Dan are seen on a movie date. In the anime television series, Runo is voiced by Eri Sendai in the Japanese language and Julie Lemieux in the English language. Tigrerra is voiced by Atsushi Ono in the Japanese language and Stevie Vallance in the English language.
Marucho Marukuros
He is a wealthy, 10 year old who is very generous and smart. He is what you could call a walking encyclopedia. He loves to play Bakugan and he also likes to work on strategies. He used to be extremely obedient to his parents just because he wanted to please them, but that changed when he met the Brawlers. He now has no regrets for the past, realizing that he only wanted to make his parents happy. He is an Aquos battler. His Guardian Bakugan are the Aquos-attribute Preyas and the Haos Angelo/Pyrus Diablo Preyas. Preyas was sent to the Doom Dimension in Marucho's battle with Klaus Von Hertzon. Later Klaus shows up with Preyus. Dan and Runo find a way to get Preyas back through defeating him in battle. Preyas evolves into a two-sided Bakugan called Preyas Angelo (Haos) and Preyas Diablo (Pyrus). Unlike the other Bakugan however, Preyas multiplies when he evolves, so Marucho got to keep the old Preyas. He is short and small. Preyas also has a move called "Change of Attribute" with that he can take advantage of the opponent's gate card. In the anime television series, Marucho is voiced by Ryou Hirohashi in the Japanese language and Joanne Vannicola in the English language. Preyas is voiced by Shawn Meunier.
Julie Makimoto
She's 12 years old and tries to stay happy even when the worst has happened (for example, when Billy ended up under the control of Masquerade), her acting happy after something terrible happened is generally just to cover up her real feelings. Julie forgets things easily, proving that she is a little scatterbrained at times. She is always up and happy with a positive attitude. She is a Subterra battler. At the beginning of the series, she is shown to have a crush on Dan (which led to some arguments with a jealous Runo), but later, she likes Billy and accepts a date offer from him and they start going out. Julie has a sister named Daisy who has bested her in everything since she was a child. Her Guardian Bakugan is Subterra-attribute Gorem. In the anime television series, Julie is voiced by Risa Mizuno in the Japanese language and Katie Griffin in the English language. Gorem is voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto.
Shun Kazami
He is a very strong, silent, cool type 11-year-old. He is the former 1st ranked Bakugan player who later moves down to sixth position. He is a master of Bakugan, and is also Dan's childhood friend. Shun is a loner, a boy of very few words, yet is willing to help his friends at every turn almost. He is a Ventus battler. He approaches Bakugan like a ninja. He lives with his grandfather (who used to be a famous ninja warrior) who once expected Shun to follow in his footsteps instead of playing Bakugan. His Guardian Bakugan is the Ventus-attribute Skyress whom Shun received from his comatose mother in the hospital. In the anime television series, Shun is voiced by Chihiro Suzuki in the Japanese language and Zachary Bennett in the English language. Skyress is voiced by Chiharu Suzuka.
Alice Gehabich
She is a 14-year-old-girl from Moscow who doesn't play Bakugan. Michael Gehahbich is her grandfather, but after learning that her grandfather became Hal-G and works with Naga, she constantly worried about him. Alice usually just gives advice to the brawlers, instead of battling. Alice and Marucho are the 2 brawlers who mostly use strategy. Although unlike Marucho, Alice gives her strategies to the brawlers. During season 2 she left the Brawlers after finding out that she was Masquerade out of intense guilt over what she did as him, but later returns in time to save Dan and Drago. In the anime television series, Alice is voiced by Mamiko Noto in the Japanese language and Emilie Barlow in the English language.
Masquerade
He used to be the number 1 Bakugan player before he left Alice's body. His goal is to send all Bakugan to the Doom Dimension with his Doom Card, so he can evolve his Hydranoid and have the Ultimate Bakugan. He is a Darkus battler. He is revealed to be Alice in episode 38 and 39. Masquerade came to life when negative energy changed Alice. (Who doesn't know she is Masquerade or what happens when she becomes him.) Alice's Grandfather was also affected by the negative energy and he was changed into Hal-G. (A man working with Naga to destroy Earth and Vestroia.) He battles with Dan in episode 38 and loses. He is actually Alice, but Masquerade disappears from her body. In the anime television series, Masquerade is voiced by Souichiro Hoshi in the Japanese language and Lyon Smith in the English language.
Joe Brown
Also known as Webmaster Joe. He lived in a hospital with his mother. The Brawlers used to think he was working for Masquerade, but he actually sent a message to the Brawlers to warn them that Masquerade was plotting against them. When he met Dan, he said he would only tell him if he was working for Masquerade if Dan beat him in a battle. In the middle of the battle he fainted. When he woke up they asked him to be one of the Brawlers. He gladly accepted. Sometime after he moved to the Brawlers neighborhood, he found Wayvern who had the Infinity core inside her. Wayvern's attribute is Haos. Wayvern is Joe's Guardian Bakugan. It is also revealed that Wayvern is Naga's younger twin sister. At the end of the last episode of Bakugan Joe and Chan Lee are seen on a bench together holding hands. Joe is the first person to beat Masquerade at Bakugan. In the anime television series, Joe is voiced by Souichiro Hoshi.

The Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

however, when he began the trip used the carriage, came a young man was named Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). The Mutt arrival looked for Indy because he was asked for by his mother who was becoming the troops's Russian prisoner. When meeting Indy, Mutt at once gave the letter and a sheet of guidance of the map of treasure made by the friend Indy, of Professor Oxley (John Hurt), that was lost mysteriously. Indy that knew true the method of Ox berteka-teki, began to translate the guidance and to try to look for the Kristal Skull. Indy and Mutt carried out the adventure broke the artificial Ox puzzle. They then was brought to the troops's Russian post. Was not supposed, there Indy met Ox that became the Russian prisoner as well as your mother of Mutt that evidently the Indy fiance in the past, Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen). At that time, the Ox condition very worrying. The spirit Ox was disturbed was proper for the sufferer was sick the spirit. This was caused by Ox too long gazed at the Kristal Skull eyes that radiated the rays. The struggle was for the sake of the struggle carried out by Indy and his friend to seize again the Kristal Skull. They wanted to return the skull to his place.
The film Indiana Jones was the quite phenomenal adventure film. Beginning with Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom (1984), and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), all of them panned for gold the success and the high interest from the lover of the film. Currently, after almost 19 years, Indiana Jones emerged again with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. That distinguished with the series Indiana Jones beforehand was beforehand the Indy hunting was connected with Nazi. Now, the adventure was connected with the creature from the other dimension (could be mentioned AND or Alien). The fourth series Indiana Jones did not lose interesting with the series beforehand. However, possibly because of the time that influenced tren the film as well as so many adventure films and the hunting of similar treasure, made the theme this film story seemed the market. Not only that, the end the film story could easily was guessed was proper for the hunting film of other treasure. Spoke concerning the quality of acting of the players, might not be made hesitate.

The Twilight

Twilight is a young adult vampire-romance novel written by author Stephenie Meyer. It was originally published in hardcover in 2005. It is the first book of the Twilight series, and introduces seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan who moves from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington, and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen. The novel is followed by New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.

Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona, to rainy Forks, Washington, to live with her father, Charlie. She chooses to do this so that her mother, Renée, can travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, who is a minor league baseball player. In Phoenix she was a bit of an outcast, so it surprises her that she attracts much attention at her new school, and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys in the school compete for shy Bella's attention.

When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. He even attempts to change his schedule to avoid her, leaving Bella completely puzzled about his attitude towards her. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black, into telling her the local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires. Although she was inexplicably attracted to him even when she thought Edward drank human blood, she is much relieved to learn that the Cullens choose to abstain from drinking human blood, and drink animal blood instead. Edward reveals that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was so desirable. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.

The seemingly perfect state of their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks, and James, a tracker vampire, decides that he wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens plan to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. Bella then gets a phone call from James in which he says that he has her mother, and Bella must give herself up to James at her old dance studio, to save her. She does so, and while at the dance studio, James attacks her. Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, rescue Bella before James can kill her. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward sucks the venom out of her system before it can spread and change her into a vampire. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen.

Stephenie Meyer has stated that the apple on the cover represents the forbidden fruit from the book of Genesis. It symbolizes Bella and Edward's love, which is forbidden, similar to the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, as is implied by the quote from Genesis 2:17 that is quoted in the beginning of the book. It also represents the choice that Bella has, of partaking of the "forbidden fruit", Edward, or choosing to not see him.

The Elektra Movies

Elektra Natchios, usually referred to only by her first name Elektra, is a fictional character in publications from Marvel Comics. Created by Frank Miller, the character first appeared in Daredevil #168 (January 1981).

Elektra is a Greek ninja assassin who wields two bladed sai as her trademark weapon. She is a love interest of the superhero Daredevil, but her violent nature and mercenary lifestyle divide the two. She is one of Frank Miller's best-loved creations, and subsequent writers' use of her is controversial as Marvel had originally promised to not resurrect the character without Miller's permission.[1] She has also appeared as a supporting character of the X-Men's Wolverine.

She is named after Electra, daughter of Agamemnon of Mycenae and Clytemnestra of Sparta.[citation needed] In the 2003 movie Daredevil, she was portrayed by Golden Globe-winning actress Jennifer Garner. Garner returned for the role as the main character in the 2005 spinoff, Elektra.

Introduction

According to Marvel Comics, Elektra is the world's most lethal woman and one of Marvel's most cold-blooded characters. She has killed more men than just about any other Marvel character while remaining one of the most popular heroines in the Marvel Universe.

Elektra was born in a Greek island on Athens near the Aegean Sea to Hugo Kostas Natchios and his wife Christina Natchios. She had an older brother named Orestez Natchios (in Greek the name should be Oρέστης - i.e. Orestes with Latin alphabet).

Two contradictory accounts of her family history have been given in various issues. In Elektra: Root of Evil #1-4 (March - June, 1995), it is stated that her father was an aspiring diplomat who eventually managed to gain his first assignment as an ambassador to an unspecified country. However, Hugo and his wife had grown apart. Christina had begun a series of extramarital affairs with no apparent interest in keeping them secret, resulting in personal humiliation for her husband. Popular opinion in diplomatic circles stated that a man unable to control his wife had no business deciding on the fate of the world. When Christina became pregnant for a second time, Hugo was certain the child was not his own.

Hugo confided to his adolescent son that his mother was a whore who was shaming their family. Orestez promised his father that Christina would never again shame them. Hugo failed to understand the meaning of these words. On August 13 of that year, the couple was on holiday in the Aegean Sea. They were located by a helicopter which opened fire on them both. The assassins left them for dead. The couple was taken to a nearby hospital. Christina gave premature birth to Elektra and then died. Hugo recovered from his wounds.

Orestez had hired the assassins in order to indirectly commit matricide. He was horrified by the idea of unintentional patricide and ran away from home. Hugo was the only family left to Elektra. At first, Hugo had no intention to raise this "bastard" child. However, a paternity test confirmed the child to be his own. Hugo was not sorry for losing Christina. He was grateful, however, for her giving him a daughter. He arranged for a beautiful headstone to be placed on her grave. Images of the Erinyes on the headstone implied however that Christina was responsible for her own death.

Hugo grew to adore Elektra. He nicknamed her his "Little Amber" and showered her with gifts. Her favorite gift was a pet dog of her own, named Agamemnon, continuing the pattern of Hugo naming members of his family after the Atreidae. The dog was killed when a nine-year-old Elektra was assaulted by kidnappers. The men were all killed by Orestez, who had grown into an accomplished martial artist after leaving home. He did not explain his presence there. He briefly acquainted himself to his little sister and then left again.

However, Orestez had a lasting effect in her life. He advised his father that Elektra needed to learn self-defense. Hugo hired a sensei to teach her the martial arts, beginning her acquaintance with fighting. According to the Daredevil film, Elektra's father hired a new sensei every year, to ensure her skills in the martial arts. The issues were scripted by D.G. Chichester and drawn by Scott McDaniel.

The Bangkok Dangerous 2008

Bangkok Dangerous is a 2008 crime film written and directed by the Pang Brothers and starring Nicolas Cage. It is a remake of the Pangs' 1999 debut film of the same name, a Thai film for which Cage's production company, Saturn Films, purchased the remake rights.[2] Known by its working title, Big Hit in Bangkok,[3] and also as Time to Kill, it began filming in Bangkok in August 2006, with locations that include Soi Cowboy.[4][5]

The film was financed by Initial Entertainment Group, with Lionsgate acquiring its North America distribution rights.[6]

The film was released in North America on September 5, 2008.

Plot

Hitman Joe (Nicolas Cage) goes to Bangkok for a month-long assignment, to kill four people for Bangkok ganglord Surat.

He hires pickpocket Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm) as his go-between, a condition of the contract being that the gang will never meet Joe. Contracts from the Bangkok gangsters go through Kong via a nightclub dancer, who becomes romantically involved with Kong.

Joe's first execution is done in traffic with him riding a bike and stopping in front of the car. He then shoots the target and everyone in the car with a machine pistol. His second target is a hotel owner. Joe sneaks into the penthouse and kills the target by drowning him in the pool.

Originally he plans to kill Kong before he leaves but after Kong gives him information about the second target he begins to train Kong. For the third execution Kong assists Joe, the kill does not go as planned, with the target nearly getting away before Joe catches him and shoots him after a chase in front of many shocked onlookers. Before the third kill the gang attempt to identify Joe, he warns them off.

His fourth target is the Prime Minister of Thailand. Joe is about to make the kill when he has second thoughts, is spotted, and escapes through a panicking crowd. Joe is now a target and is attacked at his house by four gang members. He manages to use explosives to take them out and is faced with the choice of rescuing Kong or leaving the country unharmed. Joe decides to rescue Kong, so he sets off to the gang's headquarters with one of the half-alive attackers who was injured in the explosion at Joe's safe house.

Joe goes to the gang's headquarters, kills most of the gang and saves Kong and the dancer, Aom (Panward Hemmanee). The fearful gang leader flees to his car with three other accomplices. Joe spots him and shoots the gang members at the front of the car dead. After one of the gang in back of the car attempts to run to safety, Joe kills him. Joe gets into the back seat with Surat, the gang leader.

As the police arrive at the location, Joe is again in a difficult situation; he decides to use what is believed to be his last remaining bullet to kill himself by putting both his and Surat's heads together. Joe then puts the gun up to his temple and pulls the trigger, killing himself and Surat.

Stitch : The Movies

The Movie

The dreaded Disney sequel curse strikes again. If you're not familiar with this common phenomenon, it's the ongoing problem that nearly every straight-to-video Disney sequel suffers from; namely, the movie stinks. And although Stitch! The Movie tries to up the ante in the comedy department, it falls horribly flat with its abysmal plot and stale dialogue.

Things get off to a bad start right from the promotional material on the box. It says, "Stitch was experiment 626…meet the other 625!" Sounds like the grounds for a good sequel right? Well it might have been if we actually got to meet the other 625. Instead, we're introduced to two other experiments, a slim electrical Pikachu like creature, and a painfully unfunny sandwich eating couch potato. Where are the rest of the experiments? Well we see them, but only in un-hatched egg form. Yes it's lame, much like the plot.

Our old "big dummy" shark-like nemesis, Captain Gantu has accepted employment with Jumba's old partner Dr. Hamsterviel. Hamsterviel is an angry little "hamster-like" alien whose sole mission is to steal back the other 625 experiments that he funded in the first place so he can take over the galaxy. When Lilo and Stitch see Jumbo getting kidnapped, they resort to hatching one of the other experiments to help get him back. Yet the electrical sucking creature acts much like Stitch did in the first movie, and naturally isn't very cooperative. Hamsterviel then attempts to torture Jumbo into telling him where the other experiments were hidden, by releasing experiment 625, who Gantu found laying on the ground at Lilo's house. Experiment 625 has all the power and capabilities of Stitch, yet is lazy and is only concerned with making sandwiches. This leads to a ransom for Jumbo's safe return, and the eventual release of all the remaining 623 experiments (none of which we really get to meet). The movie then concludes with a disgustingly simple resolution that the galactic councilwoman gingerly accepts.

On the bright side, all of the original voice talents from Lilo & Stitch have returned for this straight-to-video release. This is good, because if the voices had changed, the movie would have been un-watchable. I was happy that Kids In The Hall alum, Kevin McDonald got plenty of screen time with his oddball character Pleakley. This was my favorite character in the first movie, and I was glad to see he had received more lines for this installment. And for the most part, I enjoyed the voice of Jeff Bennett who played the overexcited Dr. Hamsterviel, despite the fact that he blatantly stole this personality from the French Taunter in the absolutely hilarious Monte Python and the Holy Grail.

Unfortunately, the movie has more bad points than good. The new character, 625, was the unfunniest and most horribly voiced characters I've ever seen in a Disney feature film. Also, Lilo's older sister Nani, and her friend David, seem disturbingly uninterested in their friend, Jumba's disappearance. This was especially unnerving since the first movie placed so much emphasis on the importance of family. These, along with several instances of bad writing and awful dialogue combined to make a pretty bad movie overall.

If your kids loved Lilo & Stitch, then they'll probably love Stitch! The Movie just as much, as the humor will appeal to young ones greatly. But if you're an adult who is curious to see how the tale continues on, I'd like to offer my advice: Don't bother. There are some funny parts here and there, but overall the experience felt like a complete waste of time. If you buy it, buy if for your kids, and try not to pay too close attention.

The DVD

Video:
Stitch! The Movie is presented in 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen. The nice thing about this rarely used aspect ratio is that it fit my giant 16x9 screen almost perfectly. That was nice to see. The picture quality itself is quite stunning. Colors are rich and vibrant, and the picture is clear and clean throughout. As with all Disney straight-to-video sequels, I was hugely disappointed in the lack of detail of animation that was found on the first movie. But I was expecting this early on, so it didn't come as a shock. But just once I wish Disney would surprise me and putt in the same level of effort for these movies like they do for their theatrical releases.

The only real problem I found was a moderate degree of edge enhancement. It's not very distracting, and should go widely unnoticed, unless you're watching it on an excessively large screen.

Audio:
Here we get both a Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio tracks. Both are exceptional, and sound nearly identical. The difference between the two was so minute, that it isn't worth mentioning. Just pick your favorite and enjoy.

I was disappointed that the audio for this movie wasn't as impressive as the first. There also wasn't as much sound going to the rear speakers, so the overall surround experience wasn't as full. But there really isn't anything to complain about here. The dialogue is clear and audible and the music sounds great. For a straight-to-video release it's more than fine. Nothing memorable, but it suits them movie perfectly.

Akatsuki -naruto antagonis

Akatsuki ( meaning "Dawn" or "Daybreak") is a criminal organization composed of ten high-level ninja that have defected from their village of origin. The group receives little attention during the first part of the series, only becoming the major antagonists in Part II. Akatsuki members are characterized by their long, dark cloaks bearing red clouds with a chin-high collar. Each also possesses a unique ring, which seems to symbolize one's membership in the organization. members are partnered together in teams of two, each team sticking together as they traverse the Naruto world. Despite this partnership, members tend to have a strained relationship with their peers, only cooperating enough to complete their assignments and showing little concern when another member is killed. Orochimaru defects from the organization before the start of the series, and thus Akatsuki never exceeds nine members during the current storyline.

Akatsuki was founded by Madara Uchiha after he was expelled from his hometown of Konohagakure. Though initially meant only to mask Madara's movements, Akatsuki eventually began taking part in assassinations and espionage. By the start of the current storyline, Akatsuki's ambitions grow to plans of world domination. To mark this more dynamic goal, Akatsuki increases its activity throughout the series as it attempts to capture the nine powerful tailed beasts. Each member is assigned to capture a specific beast or its current host, at which point Akatsuki convenes to extract the beast and seal it away for their grand plan. As the Akatsuki leader, Pain, explains it, once all nine beasts have been captured Akatsuki will be able to harness their great strength to start world wars at their leisure. With the world powers unable to deal with the beasts' power, Akatsuki will be turned to for salvation, teaching the world the meaninglessness of fighting and giving Akatsuki complete control in the process. As of Naruto manga chapter 354, Akatsuki has captured seven of the beasts, with the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox planned to be the last.

Deidara

Deidara (デイダラ, Deidara) is a former ninja of Iwagakure. He acted as a terrorist bomber for hire before being forced to join Akatsuki by Itachi Uchiha. Though he came to embrace the organization, Deidara holds a grudge against Itachi and all Uchiha throughout the series, as he feels they look down on his abilities. Upon joining Akatsuki he is partnered with Sasori, who Deidara treats as his master due to his artistic expertise. Sasori is replaced by Tobi after his death, and Deidara assumes the master-position as Sasori had before him. By consuming clay with mouths in his hands, Deidara is able to create his own form of art: sculptures that explode with varying intensities. Deidara's creations can take any form he so chooses, and from the time of their creation to their detonation he can bring them to life and control them remotely. He is very confident in his art's ability, such that he believes it cannot be defeated. When Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi's younger brother, is able to systematically nullify and gain the advantage over his art, Deidara transforms himself into a living bomb in an effort to kill Sasuke and prove his art is supreme. When he speaks, he near-constantly ends his sentences with an audible "hmm?", although it has also been translated as "yeah" and other similar syllables. He is voiced by Katsuhiko Kawamoto in the Japanese anime, and during a brief cameo in its English adaptation he is voiced by Quinton Flynn.

Hidan

Hidan (飛段, Hidan) is the foul-mouthed partner of Kakuzu and a former ninja of a yet-to-be-identified village. He is a member of the Jashin (ジャシン, Jashinlit. "evil god") religion, a religion that worships a deity of the same name and where anything less than death and utter destruction is considered a sin. His religion seems to some extent, extend to his unique abilities; by consuming an opponent's blood and then drawing Jashin's triangular-design on the ground, Hidan can create a voodoo doll-like link with his opponent. Once this link is created, any damage done to Hidan's body is reflected on his opponent, allowing him to kill them by giving himself fatal injuries. Because he is immortal, Hidan is not impaired while doing this, instead finding pleasure in the pain it causes him. After H

idan uses this ability to kill Asuma Sarutobi, Shikamaru Nara fights him to avenge his teacher. Their battle culminates in Hidan being blown up, and Shikamaru buries his still-speaking remains in a place Akatsuki will never be able to reach. As such, Hidan is no longer considered a member by the rest of Akatsuki.

itachi Uchiha

(うちは イタチ Uchiha Itachi) is a former ninja of Konohagakure and the partner of Kisame Hoshigaki. Though having spent his early youth as the kindly child prodigy of the Uchiha clan, Itachi is treated as a villain for much of the series. He is initially portrayed as being solely responsible for the slaughter of his entire family, sparing only his brother, Sasuke Uchiha, with the explanation that he was testing his abilities.[6] Around the time of his death his villainous role is downplayed; not only is he revealed to have had help from his master, Madara Uchiha, in killing the clan,[7] but he performed the massacre under the orders of Konoha's leadership so as to prevent an Uchiha coup d'état. Though he is ordered to kill Sasuke as well, Itachi could not bring himself to do so, instead forcing Konoha to keep Sasuke safe or risk Itachi going public with his mission. For his part, Itachi accepts his role as a villain, never telling anyone of who else was involved and even encouraging Sasuke to grow strong enough to kill him and avenge their family.

Throughout the series Itachi attempts to avoid combat, seeking nonviolent discussions instead. If he is forced to battle he usually remains stationary, only acting in self-defense. From his idle position he studies an opponent's movements with his Sharingan eyes, trapping them in illusions when opportune by merely pointing or looking at them.[8] He is noted to be extremely fast with hand movements, allowing him to attack before an opponent has the chance to respond.[9]. Itachi at times uses one of the three abilities of his Mangekyo Sharingan, though he tries to avoid doing so as it is taxing on his body and damages his eyesight.[7] The first, Tsukuyomi (月読), allows him to torture opponents for what seems like days in a matter of moments.[10] Amaterasu (天照), the second, generates black flames at his focal point that will continue to burn until the target is reduced to ash.[11] The final ability, Susanoo (須佐能乎), creates a massive ethereal warrior that fights on Itachi's behalf and shields him from all attacks. Before he dies during his battle with Sasuke, Itachi implants a single Amaterasu in Sasuke's eyes, hoping that doing so will eventually kill Madara Uchiha. In the Japanese anime, Itachi is voiced by Hideo Ishikawa.[12] His first voice actor in the English anime was Skip Stellrecht, who voiced Itachi in episodes twenty-nine and thirty,[13] but in all following appearances, he has been voiced by Crispin Freeman.[14]

Kakuzu

(角都) is a former ninja of Takigakure and the partner of Hidan. He has a deep love for money, and uses his membership in Akatsuki as a means to seek out valuable bounties. Because money is the only thing he relies on, Kakuzu dislikes needing to be partnered with someone in Akatsuki. He has killed all of his previous partners in fits of rage, and thus was paired with the immortal Hidan so he wouldn't need to keep finding a replacement. Kakuzu's body is composed of large amounts of black threads, allowing him to sew things (such as Hidan's dismembered body parts) back together. The threads are also capable of piercing flesh, which Kakuzu uses to remove the still-beating hearts of his opponents for his personal use. By integrating these healthier organs into his body he can escape death and extend his life indefinitely. Hearts that he is not using are stored in animal masks sewn to his back. The masks can be detached during combat situations to shoot elemental blasts at his opponents, and can quickly be recalled to his body if he needs their heart. Kakuzu's masks are systematically destroyed soon after his introduction by a group of Konohagakure ninja. After Naruto Uzumaki leaves his final heart on the brink of failure, Kakuzu is easily finished off by Kakashi Hatake.

Kisame Hoshigaki

(干柿 鬼鮫 Hoshigaki Kisame) is a former ninja of Kirigakure and the partner of Itachi Uchiha. While most Akatsuki partners are hostile towards each other, Kisame and Itachi get along considerably well; Kisame does as Itachi asks of him unquestioningly and always looks out for Itachi's well-being. While he was still loyal to Kirigakure, Kisame was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, a group of ninja that use particularly large swords in battle. His sword, Samehada (鮫肌 lit. "shark skin"), is covered in scales, can absorb untold amounts of an opponent's chakra, and only allows Kisame to wield it. Kisame has a unique appearance, having pale blue skin, a gill-like facial structure, and sharp triangular teeth. These shark-like characteristics extend to his choice of attacks in battle, as he frequently shapes water into the forms of sharks to damage opponents. If there is no water nearby, Kisame can quickly produce his own lake to use at his leisure. His seiyū in the Japanese anime is Tomoyuki Dan,[15] and his English voice actor is Kirk Thornton.[16]

Konan

Konan (小南) is the partner of the Akatsuki leader, Pain, and the only female ninja in Akatsuki. She was orphaned as a child by one of Amegakure's many wars, forcing her to fend for herself until being found by Jiraiya. Jiraiya trained Konan to take advantage of her natural talent with origami, and as a result paper is a key component in her battle style. Konan can divide her body into countless numbers of paper sheets, which she controls and reshapes remotely to scout out an area or form weapons for attack. She can even form wings that mirror her title as "God's Angel" amongst the villagers of Amegakure, as she often carries out Pain's (who has the title of "God") will. Her abilities are constrained while wet, as paper clings to itself and loses its stiffness.

Madara Uchiha

(うちは マダラ Uchiha Madara) is the founder of Akatsuki and the first possessor of the Mangekyo Sharingan, a rare form of the eye condition unique to the Uchiha. Though it gave him the strength needed to take control of the Uchiha clan, overuse of the Mangekyo Sharingan left him blind, and it was only by taking his own brother's eyes that he was able to regain his sight. Madara eventually banded together with Hashirama Senju to create Konohagakure. The two founders disagreed on who should lead their new village and after a momentous battle between the two Madara was expelled from Konoha. In later years the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked Konoha, an act Itachi Uchiha states to have been Madara's doing. Once the fox was defeated by Minato Namikaze, Madara infiltrated Konoha in secret, trained Itachi, and subsequently assisted him in assassinating the Uchiha clan.

Much of Madara's role in the series has been under the guise of Tobi (トビ), who replaces Sasori in Akatsuki after his death. While acting as Tobi he is carefree and goofy as opposed to Madara's usual serious and stereotypically "villainous" self. Tobi's tendency to take credit for other's work and undermine his superiors annoys his partner, Deidara, who either blows up or strangles him in comical fashion as punishment. After Deidara dies during a battle with Sasuke, the only Uchiha to be spared during the massacre, the Tobi persona is discarded as Madara takes a special interest in Sasuke's development, tending to his injuries after Itachi's death. However, Madara has not completely outlived the use of his guise as he temporarily reassumes being Tobi when delaying a group of Konohagakure ninja.

Though Madara's face as it appeared during Konoha's founding has been shown in full at various points in the series, he always wears a mask in the current Naruto storyline. The mask features a swirl pattern focused around his right eye. His black hair (cut back from his earlier years) is the only constantly visible part of his face. When asked how Madara could have survived since Konoha's founding, Itachi Uchiha states that Madara is immortal. The specifics of his immortality have yet to be touched upon, though Madara implies the potency of his chakra has something to do with it. In battle he has been shown capable of making his body intangible, leaving him visible but otherwise impervious to most forms of damage, and can teleport over great distances at will. In the Japanese anime, the Tobi identity is voiced by Wataru Takagi.

Pain

Pain's six bodies
Pain's six bodies

Pain (ペイン Pein) is the leader of Akatsuki and the partner of Konan. "Pain" is not a single person, instead

being six entirely different bodies that share the same mind. The only common physical characteristics amongst them are their orange hair color, a number of body piercings, and the Rinnegan (輪廻眼 lit. "Samsara Eye"). The Rinnegan, a unique eye condition characterized by a number of concentric circles around the pupil, allows the wielder to utilize any ninja ability. Pain uses it to share visual information amongst all six bodies, giving them the ability to coordinate offense and defense as if they were a single entity. Each body possesses a unique skill; the body with a large ponytail, for example, can summon a wide array of creatures, while the fat body is able to absorb attacks as a form of defense. The six bodies' combined might was enough to singleha

ndedly overthrow Amegakure's former governmental body, giving Pain control of the village and god-like status amongst the villagers in the process.

When first meeting Pain, Jiraiya assumes the entity to have once been Nagato (長門), an Amegakure orphan he trained in the past. Though Nagato was the first possessor of the Rinnegan that he encountered and Pain refers to him as sensei, Jiraiya begins to doubt this initial assumption when he sees Pain's six bodies. Realizing that all six bodies once belonged to ninja he encountered w

hen he wandered the Naruto world, Nagato's body not being among them, Jiraiya risks his life to learn the secret of Pain. He succeeds and is able to send his, as yet undisclosed, discovery to Konoh

agakure, though is killed in the process. The first of Pain's bodies is voiced by Dave Wittenberg during a brief cameo in the English anime.

Sasori

Sasori (サソリ) is a former ninja of Sunagakure. His parents died when he was young, leaving him in the care of his grandmother, Chiyo. Lacking the love of parents, Sasori left Sunagakure when he got older and joined Akatsuki where he is initially partnered with Orochimaru. After Orochimaru's defection he Sasori teamed with Deidara, who looks to him and his artistic knowledge with reverence. Before leaving Sunagakure, Sasori was taught the art of puppetry by his grandmother, which he refined to fit his needs over the years. He eventually devised a way to convert the corpses of humans into puppets, allowing him to use any of the ninja abilities they possessed during their life for himself. In time he even converted his own body into a puppet, which gives him eternal life and allows him to control hundreds of puppets at once. Each weapon in his puppets' extended arsenal is laced with a poison of Sasori's design that causes extreme pain to the inflicted until they die. Sakura Haruno is able to create an antidote for Sasori's poison, allowing her and Chiyo to fight him uninhibited. They eventually destroy his heart, the only part of his humanity he kept when converting himself to a puppet, resulting in his death. In the Japanese anime Sasori is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai as an adult and Akiko Yajima during flashbacks to his childhood.

Zetsu

Zetsu (ゼツ?) is the only member of Akatsuki to regularly act without a partner. This is in part a result of his ability to merge with any object and quickly travel to a new location, a feat few other ninja are capable of. Because of this ability Zetsu serves a variety of different positions in Akatsuki, such as a spy that observes and reports on battles of interest or a lookout during Akatsuki's meetings. Being cannibalistic, he is often sent to dispose of bodies Akatsuki does not want found, mirroring the large venus flytrap that envelops his body. Zetsu's body is split into two different colors, his right side being black and his left being white. Similarly, the two sides have their own personalities and knowledge bases, frequently leading to discussions and arguments between the two. The black half speaks in Katakana in the Japanese manga and is voiced by Michael Sorich in the English anime, while the white speaks Kanji and Kana and is voiced by Brian Beacock. Both sides are voiced by Nobuo Tobita in the Japanese anime, with the black half being given a much deeper voice than the white.
