RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN

Race to Witch Mountain is a re-imagining of the 1975 film Escape to Witch Mountain. Both versions of the film are based on the 1968 novel Escape to Witch Mountainby author Alexander Key. The film is directed by Andy Fickman and starsDwayne JohnsonAnnaSophia RobbAlexander Ludwig, and Carla Gugino.

Filming began in Los Angeles in March 2008. Race to Witch Mountain was released on March 13, 2009.

Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson) is a cab driver in Las Vegas, who is picking up and dropping off passengers to the UFO convention at the Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel. One of his passengers is Dr. Alex Friedman (Carla Gugino), a failed scientist who is giving speeches about legitimate scientific theories of UFOs and outer space.

The next day Bruno is approached by two large men telling him that Wolff would like to see him. After fighting them, Bruno drives off, later noticing two children, Sara (AnnaSophia Robb) and Seth (Alexander Ludwig) sitting in the back seat of the cab. They tell him they need to go to a certain destination and are willing to pay all they have ($15,000) to get there. They lead him to a run down house in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, Major Henry Burke (Ciaran Hinds) is searching for information on the two aliens that landed some days earlier.

When they arrive at the house, the children tell Bruno that they will be re-united with their relatives soon. Before leaving Bruno hears a crash coming from the house. He is startled to find them hiding behind a couch. Though grateful for his concern, the children tell him they must continue their journey without him, as they can trust no one. Nevertheless, Bruno decides to follow them, which leads him to the basement of the house. There the kids are pursued and attacked by a strange creature as they retrieve an object in a plant. They manage to escape from this creature.

When leaving they are attacked by a "Siphon", a creature built to destroy a certain target. The Siphon pursues them until it causes a crash of his spaceship into a train, the creature survives, though wounded. The trio eventually find themselves in a small town, Stony Creek, where they encounter Tina the waitress (Tia from the original movie) and the sheriff (Tony from the original movie), now both grown and settled in the town to which they escaped in the original movie. The children explain to Bruno that they are aliens from a distant planet, who are sent to Earth by their parents because the government of their dying planet intends to attack and invade Earth so that their kind may live on there. They also explain that the object they obtained at the house contains the results of an experiment which their parents set up. The research from this experiment will save their planet without having to attack and invade Earth. However their planet's military prefer the idea of invading Earth and sent the Siphon assassin to stop them. They are next pursued by government agencies trying to retrieve the children for experiments.

They are joined by Dr. Friedman at the UFO Expo. With help of one of Dr. Friedman's friends they discover that the ship they are searching has been relocated to a government base at Witch Mountain. While preparing to leave the UFO Expo the Siphon arrives, it prepares to attack but Sara uses her powers to knock him through a wall. The group, now including Dr. Friedman, after evading the pursuing government agents eventually arrive at Witch Mountain. At first the children are captured along with Bruno and Friedman. Nevertheless the two humans escape and come to rescue the kids. The Siphon causes a distraction by attacking the base. They manage to free the children and reach their ship. By running the Siphon over they escape but the Siphon hangs on and gets on board. Bruno and Seth battle the Siphon in the lower sections of the ship, unmasking him in the fight. Finally, Bruno defeats the evil alien by knocking him into the ships engine. The kids drop Jack and Alex off and after a tearful goodbye, they head back to their ship, but give Bruno and Alex a device that will allow the kids to always find them. And Sara gives Jack the power to use his brain to the mind reading ability.

During the end credits, Bruno and Dr. Friedman (now a couple) are speaking at a UFO convention about their new successful book called "Race to Witch Mountain". The last scene shows them driving off in a car Bruno dreamed of getting honestly as he had mentioned to Friedman earlier—a Mustang similar to that driven by Steve McQueen in Bullitt. This mind-blowing event stuns the entire audience, causing them to comment aloud. As they are about to leave, the device the kids gave Bruno before they left goes off, indicating that they may be returning.

For years, often narrated around the place of the secret in the middle of the Nevada desert, with the phenomenon and mysterious scenery. The place was known by the name of Penyihir mountains (Witch Mountain), and during a person penegmudi the taxi (Dwayne Johnson) bertemua two adolescents with the supernatural strength, he realised that he was being in the adventure that could not he described. When they only had the opportunity to express the Witch Mountain secret, many sides tried to stop them...

The Cleopatra

Two generals most had the power in the Roman empire, Julius Caesar and Markus Antonius, to yield to Cleopatra. He became the legend, menginspirasi he wrote the book, the drama, and dozens of operas. So many people felt so many people knew Cleopatra, without really knew who and how the queen's Egyptian noose in fact. Cleopatra not Egyptians. He the descendants of the Ptolemy dynasty that came from Macedonia. The Ptolemy dynasty had the power in Egypt for three centuries after the Egyptian subjugation by Alexander the Great. Cleopatra was pharaoh Ptolemic first that studied the Egyptian language. He also pharaoh finally Egypt, because after his death, Egypt became one of the provinces in the Roman empire.
according to the history note that was made by the Greek writer, Plutarch (that also wrote the story lived Archimedes) in his book of Life of Anthony was depicted by Cleopatra “benar-correctly did not record, outside biasa” and “kecantikan him not duanya”. However from Cleopatra's picture that was gotten to ten currency coins that were made in his government's period, be difficult to say Cleopatra pretty. His neck was fat, his nose was bent, his ears were long, and his chin stuck up. High his body then only 1,5 metre …. So, what made Cleopatra be like this enchanted? Cleopatra's beauty was di’dalam’, not in tampilan ‘luar’ him. He could speak in nine languages. His brain was sharp. His charisma was strong. His policy was astonishing. He was educated high, and had extraordinary grandeur since early. Plutarch wrote “Percakapan him captured extraordinary … ” and “Perbincangan him tempted. The character is, that merasuk in his action like that enchanted was not said. The sound from his voice was sweet … “. He was so interesting, so as “Plato acknowledged four praise kinds, but Cleopatra had thousands.
Cleopatra was not pretty, but he succeeded in controlling the heart of two people who most had the power in his period, Julius Caesar and Markus Antonius. Caesar said, “Tidak had blood in vena him, apart from sun blood. Hathor that was sweet remained in the eyes and mortar lututnya”. Cleopatra inherited the Egyptian kingdom that was bankrupt. Sebegitu the bankruptcy, until could not print the gold coin, and only made the coin from metal that was not so good his quality. That was the reason often was not found the coin with the picture himself. He built troops, made Egypt strong, maintained peacefulness in negri him, and the success pitted opponents of the strength against each other so as to wage war their peers personally. The Egyptian capital, Alexandria, was the city that most advanced in the world at the time. The city had the health service, the big library, the extraordinary lighthouse, and was a centre of the culture and interesting knowledge the person from all over the world.
Unfortunately, forensic knowledge can not show to us Cleopatra's face. Napoleon seized much treasure from France, including the case of the mummy Cleopatra. Most treasure was returned to Egypt, but the case of the mummy Cleopatra was unintentionally left. During the 1940 's, the French workers found the case of his mummy, and threw his contents to the place of the disposal …. Cleopatra's beauty not in tampilan physical him, but as the icon in the love legend, then the painters, the writer of the drama, and the manufacturer must have of the film put forward Cleopatra that was pretty lovely. The film “Cleopatra” that was made during 1963 put forward the actress was prettiest in the period, Elizabeth Taylor. The film that was made beforehand, like “Antony and Cleopatra”, give Cleopatra's role to Florence Lawrence, while Helen Gardner performed Cleo in the film “Cleopatra, The Quin of Egypt”. Elizabeth, Florence, and Helen were not wrong still was actresses was prettiest in his day. Apparently, the world still believe in that the woman that enchanted must had paras pretty lovely …
For the women who were not lucky to be blessed with the slim body slender, sparkling white people, and the face shone like the full moon, not need to restless. Imitate Cleopatra. Be the clever woman, wise, and had personal grandeur. Certainly the world will be on our hands …..

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 4

Relations between Dominic Toretto (Vin the Diesel) and Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) quite unique. On the one hand Dom really hated Brian because he was police that menyamar became the racing driver to arrest the gang of the robber who was led by Dom, but on the other side, Brian could also rescue his life several times. After trying to move further away from Brian, finally fate brought Dom returned to Los Angeles where he must meet Brian again. However this time came back Dom was forced to have to establish the work was the same as the person who was hated by him this because the two of them faced the same enemy. There was no choice for Dom and Brian apart from trusting each other to complete their personal mission was their respective. Brian was assigned to infiltrate into the network of the distributor of narcotics named Antonio Braga (John Ortiz). Brian found the gap when Braga looked for an uncivilised racing driver to be made the courier. Unfortunately, Dominic also aimed at the same position although in fact Dominic's motivation was pure revenge. Dominic wanted to avenge the Letty death (Michelle Rodriguez) Because of the Braga conduct. A film had genre racing could remain until the fourth sequel might be still being an achievement. But could be also the launching of this fourth part as the redeemer from two episodes beforehand that failed. This was seen from the player's composition that was the same as the first part that threw the genre of the film racing last 2001. Acknowledged or not, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS and THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: Tokyo DRIFT indeed failed to occupy the level that was the same as the first part. Two films appeared to lose taring when compared with the episode initially. The topic that began to be felt monotonous and the fight sequence that still did not pull could be made the failure scapegoat of this film in the market. But apparently the reality did not make Universal Studios surrendered and emerged the fourth part with original lineup this. But although being regarded as the correction by this fourth part, apparently same efforts too much were not successful. The menu that was served also still not far from three parts beforehand. Finally, the studio only could hope that the genre interested persons of the film racing still enough and was prepared to spend money to watch this film. The plot was not strong enough to make this film be something that was deserving to be recalled while acting of his players also was classified as the standard then. The visual matter indeed still quite interesting although in fact did not have something that was completely new. If you passed three parts beforehand, possibly did not have mistakenly you tried FAST & FURIOUS this was the reverse if you followed franchise this from the beginning, will not be unfortunate if you passed this one. Except, of course, if you want to recalled the past saw the appearance of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.

The Smallville

Smallville is an American television series developed by writer/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and was initially broadcast by The WB. After its fifth season, the WB and UPN merged to form The CW, which is the current broadcaster for the show in the United States.[1] Smallville premiered on October 16, 2001, and completed its seventh season on May 15, 2008.[2] An eighth season was officially announced by The CW on March 3, 2008.[3] It is filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The plot follows the adventures of a young Clark Kent's life in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends' high school years. Since season five, the show has ventured into more adult settings, with some characters attending college and an increase in the introductions of other DC comic book superheroes and villains.

Smallville inspired an Aquaman pilot, which was not picked up by The CW network, as well as promotional tie-ins with Verizon, Sprint, Toyota, and Stride. In other media, the show has spawned a series of young-adult novels, a DC Comics bi-monthly comic book and soundtrack releases. The show broke the record for highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers tuning in for its pilot episode.

The Avatar Legend Of Aang

A century prior to the series' opening, Aang, a 12-year-old Airbender of the Air Nomads' Southern Air Temple, learned from the elder monks that he was the Avatar. Usually, the Avatar is told of his or her true identity after turning sixteen; however, the monks feared that a war between the four nations was on the horizon and that soon the Avatar would be required to maintain balance and order in the world. Shortly thereafter, the monks decreed that Aang would be separated from his guardian, Monk Gyatso, and sent to the Eastern Air Temple to complete his training.

Confused, frightened, and overwhelmed by these recent events and his new responsibilities as the Avatar, Aang fled from his home on his flying bison, Appa. While traveling over frigid southern ocean waters, a sudden storm caused Appa to plunge deep into the sea. Threatened with drowning, Aang unconsciously entered the Avatar State, and used Airbending and Waterbending to encase himself and Appa in an ice bubble, forcing them into a state of suspended animation. The ocean currents propelled the bubble into the icy waters surrounding the South Pole, where it could not thaw, and instead formed into an iceberg.

The series opens one hundred years later, with the Fire Nation on the brink of victory in its imperialist war. All Air Nomads are believed dead. The Water Tribes are in crisis — the Southern Water Tribe's warriors have left to wage war, leaving their home defenseless, while the Northern Water Tribe, though largely intact, is continually on the defensive. The vast Earth Kingdom is now the only true barrier to the Fire Nation's world conquest, but as the Fire Nation continues to encroach on its borders and conquer its territories, hopes of victory grow bleaker with each passing year.

Two teenage siblings from the Southern Water Tribe — Katara, an inexperienced Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka, a warrior and caretaker of the tribe — discover and free Aang and Appa from the iceberg. Aang soon discovers to his horror that, during his absence, a century-long war has been waged. The very year he vanished, Fire Lord Sozin, then-ruler of the Fire Nation, took advantage of both the Avatar's absence and the Firebending-enhancing powers of a passing comet (later named "Sozin's Comet" in his honor) to launch a war on the other nations. To Aang's shock and disbelief, the Fire Nation's opening gambit had been a genocidal assault on the Air Nomads. The Air Temples were stormed and the Airbenders slaughtered in the Fire Nation's effort to break the Avatar Cycle, leaving Aang as the last known Airbender in existence.

As the Avatar, Aang's duty is to restore harmony and peace to the four nations. Along with his newly discovered friends Katara and Sokka, his flying bison Appa and his winged lemur Momo, and later the blind Earthbender Toph, Aang travels the world to master all four elements. During his quest, he must constantly avoid being captured by the banished Prince Zuko and, later, Zuko's deceptive sister, Princess Azula.

Although normally years of disciplined training are required to master a single Bending art, Aang must become a master of all four and defeat Fire Lord Ozai by summer's end, when the return of Sozin's Comet will give the Firebenders the power to win the war. If these events come to pass, not even the Avatar will possess the ability to restore balance to the world.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is an upcoming 2009 fantasy adventure film, based on the novel by J. K. Rowling. It is the sixth film in the popular Harry Potter films series. Production is in the post-production stage. David Yates, the director of the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is returning as director for this film. David Heyman and David Barron are producing the film,[1] and Steve Kloves, writer of the first four films (but not the fifth), has returned as screenwriter for this film.[2] Filming began on 24 September 2007 and the film was originally planned for a UK and US release on 21 November 2008,[3][2] but on 14 August 2008, it was announced that the release date for the film was to be pushed back to 17 July 2009.[4] Like the previous film, the sixth film will be simultaneously released in regular cinemas and IMAX 3-D.[5]

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defences and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny (Bonnie Wright), but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.[6]

Development

Before David Yates was officially chosen to direct the film, many others had been offered the job, and previous directors had expressed an interest in returning. Alfonso Cuarón, the director of the third film, stated he "would love to have the opportunity" to return.[7] Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell declined a spot to direct the fifth film, and was not approached for this one.[8] Terry Gilliam was Rowling's personal choice to direct Philosopher's Stone. However, when asked whether he would consider directing a later film, Gilliam said, "Warner Bros. had their chance the first time around, and they blew it."[9]

Yates has retained composer Nicholas Hooper, costume designer Jany Temime, visual effects supervisor Tim Burke, creature and make-up effects designer Nick Dudman, and special effects supervisor John Richardson from the third film.[2] Since February 2007, Stuart Craig, the production designer of the first five films as well, has been designing sets, including the cave, and the astronomy tower, where the climax of the film takes place.[10] Academy Award nominated Bruno Delbonnel is the film's cinematographer.[2]

Yates and Heyman have noted that some of the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows may influence the script of the film.[11] Steve Kloves, who wrote the first four films, returned for the sixth adaptation.[12]

There are a number of changes from the book in the film. Much of the book's ending has been changed, with the Battle of Hogwarts and Dumbledore's funeral being removed. Heyman commented that the end battle was removed to "[avoid] repetition" with the forthcoming adaptation of Deathly Hallows. The funeral was removed as it did not fit with the rest of the film.[13] The collapse of a Muggle bridge (which is only mentioned in the book) acts as the opening sequence.[14] All but two of the memory scenes, including that of the Gaunts, have been cut. Only the flashbacks of Tom Riddle at the orphanage and Riddle asking Slughorn about Horcruxes remain.[14] Yates noted: "We're making a decision right now to compress those a wee bit, but we've still got some really cool ones."[15] Characters who are cut include the Dursleys and the Muggle Prime Minister, but Quidditch returns.

The Transformers

Transformers is a 2007 live-action film adaptation of the Transformers franchise, directed by Michael Bay and written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. It stars Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky, a teenager involved in a war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, two factions of alien robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery. The Decepticons desire control of the All Spark, the object that created their robotic race, with the intention of using it to build an army by giving life to the machines of Earth. Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and John Turturro also star, while Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving provide the voices of Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively.

Producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto developed the project in 2003, with a treatment written by DeSanto. Executive producer Steven Spielberg came on board the following year, and hired Orci, Kurtzman and Bay for the project in 2005. The filmmakers wanted a realistic depiction of the story, and created a complex design aesthetic for the robots to stress their alien nature. The computer-generated characters were programmed to have thousands of mechanical pieces move as they transformed and maneuvered. The United States Military and General Motors lent vehicles and aircraft during filming, which saved money for the production and added realism to the battle scenes.

Hasbro organized an enormous promotional campaign for the film, making deals with hundreds of companies. This advertising blitz included a viral marketing campaign, coordinated releases of Transformers prequel comics books, Transformers toys and books, as well as product placement deals with GM and eBay. The film was a box office success despite mixed fan reaction to the radical redesigns of the characters, and reviews criticizing the focus on the humans at the expense of the robots. It is the thirtieth most successful film released and the fifth most successful of 2007, grossing approximately US$708 million worldwide. The film won four awards from the Visual Effects Society and was nominated for three Academy Awards. It revitalized media interest in the franchise, and a sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is expected for release on June 26, 2009.

The film opens with Optimus Prime, heroic leader of the benevolent Autobots, describing in a voice-over the destruction of the Transformers' home world, Cybertron. It was destroyed by the evil Decepticon leader Megatron in his quest to obtain the All Spark. The Autobots want to find the All Spark so they can use it to rebuild Cybertron and end the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, while the Decepticons want to use it to defeat the Autobots and conquer the universe. Megatron found the All Spark on Earth, but crash-landed in the Arctic Circle and was frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumbled upon Megatron's body in 1897. Captain Witwicky accidentally activated Megatron's navigational system and his eye glasses were imprinted with the coordinates of the All Spark's location. Sector 7, a secret United States government organization founded by Herbert Hoover, discovered the All Spark in the Colorado River and built the Hoover Dam around it to mask its energy emissions. The still-frozen Megatron was moved into this facility and was used to advance human technology through reverse engineering.

In the present day, the group of Decepticons — Blackout, Scorponok, Frenzy, Barricade, Starscream, Devastator and Bonecrusher — have landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles (except Scorponok, who hides within Blackout). Blackout and Scorponok attack the U.S. SOCCENT FWD military base in Qatar and try to hack into the U.S. military network to find the location of Megatron and the All Spark. Their mission is thwarted when the base staff severs the network cable connections. While Blackout destroys the rest of the base, Scorponok chases a small group of survivors who have photographic evidence of the robots, but he is eventually repelled. During this battle, the military discovers the only effective weapons against the Transformers' armor are high-heat sabot rounds.

After Blackout's failure, Frenzy infiltrates Air Force One to again hack into the military network, planting a virus. He finds the map imprinted on Captain Witwicky's glasses, whose descendant Sam Witwicky intends to sell on eBay. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location. Autobot scout Bumblebee is also on Earth, disguised as a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro,[2] and is bought by Sam while shopping for his first car. Bumblebee helps him woo his crush, Mikaela Banes. Bumblebee leaves at night to transmit a homing signal to the rest of the Autobots and Sam sees him in robot mode. Barricade confronts Sam and demands Archibald's spectacles, but Bumblebee rescues him and Mikaela. They leave to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots — Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet — who have landed on Earth and taken the forms of Earth vehicles as well. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots return to Sam's home and obtain the glasses; however, agents from Sector 7 arrive and take Sam, Mikaela and Bumblebee into custody.

Frenzy, now disguised as Mikaela's cellphone, secretly accompanies the group to Hoover Dam and releases Megatron from his frozen state. Locating the All Spark, Frenzy sends an alert to the other Decepticons. Sam convinces the Sector 7 agents to release Bumblebee so that he can deliver the All Spark to Optimus Prime. Frenzy's virus has shut down government communications, but a group of humans manage to establish a signal to the Air Force in order to support the Autobot-human convoy, who have gone to nearby Mission City to hide the All Spark. The Decepticons attack and Bonecrusher, Frenzy, Jazz, Devastator and Blackout are all killed during the ensuing battle. Sam, who is ordered to get the All Spark to a rendezvous point for it to be taken to a safe location, instead chooses to ram it into Megatron's chest, destroying it and killing Megatron. Optimus takes a fragment of the All Spark from Megatron's corpse, but realizes that with its destruction, their home world Cybertron cannot be restored. Consequently, Optimus sends a signal to other surviving Autobots in the universe, directing them to their new home, Earth. The government orders the closure of Sector 7 and has the five Decepticons killed in the Mission City battle dumped into the Laurentian Abyss. Starscream, who fled the battle, escapes into space.
